Morning Joe first went on the air in the latter part of 2007, broadcasting from a studio in Secaucus, New Jersey. 2007 proved to be an interesting time to launch a new political talk show: an election was in the not-too-far-off distance and campaigns had already been out in full swing. As a show we've come a long way since those times in Secaucus, but let's take a look back at some of our interviews from that year including a few with then-Senator Barack Obama from Illinois, President Jimmy Carter, Sen. Hillary Clinton, Mitt Romney, Ann Romney and the Who's Roger Daltrey.
Obama in 2007
On October 4, 2007, then-Senator Barack Obama talked with Joe, Mika and Willie chat about his campaign, why "strong presidents and strong countries have to talk to their enemies," his then-competitor Hillary Clinton, the Democrats' love of Bill Clinton...and, of course, the Chicago Bears and relations.
"What i have to do is just make sure I'm delivering the message we think the American people are ready for," Obama said.
President Jimmy Carter
On October 12, 2007, former President Jimmy Carter joined the show to discuss his new book "Beyond the White House." October 12 also happened to be the day former Vice President and the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change won the Nobel Peace Prize.
Carter said he was "delighted" over Gore's win, and he shared his belief that Gore would make a great president. Carter also discussed his criticisms of the Bush administration regarding torture.
Roger Daltry
One of the main beauties of the show is its ability to pull in everyone from politicians to actors and rock stars. Roger Daltrey, singer for arguably one of the most potent and important rock bands of all time, The Who, joined us for a look back at the band's career. A new documentary, "Amazing Journey: The Story of The Who," was set to be released, and Daltrey discussed why he had no interest in seeing the movie.
"I don't want to see it because it can't be my life. It's a film...I gave them my blessings to make it and the keys to the archive, did one interview, and it is what it is."

I’m telling you something stinks about this whole situation. Neo-Cons move greedy fanatic savages around the Middle East like so many useful tool pawns on a chess board.

The breaking news in Libya and Egypt is a farce. The same covert-op, Christian, neo-con devils who instigated the protests before the Iran Hostage taking incident during the Carter Administration are perpetrating these traitorous acts AGAIN!
The situation in Iran led to the defeat of President Jimmy Carter to Ronald 6 Wilson 6 Reagan 6... Conservative wackos actually voted for an actor who played 2nd fiddle to Bonzo.
Big monied interests are paying off Libyan-Egyptian locals to storm US compounds in a concerted effort to bring down Obama/Biden before the election. By the way, what has Ollie North been up to recently?

I am 62 year old woman, who wakes up just to see your show. My interest in politics was a natural outgrowth of loving & hating history as a little black kid in a the south, I was always trying to understand a government that made the decisions it did. As a teenager participating in the American Legion's Bayou Girls State Program (segregated as it was) gave me more questions than it answered. Over time, after college and workiing in goverment for most of my life, I am still trying to learn (and still a littlle confused). For that reason I have tried broaden my sources of information. You are one but that could change.
The attraction of your show, for me, has always been the balance of opinions and facts, no matter which side of the aisle they fall. I appreciate the intellectual rather than the ideology of those opinions. I'd rather know the truth than not.
Having said all that, I know the show is called "Morning Joe," but could you let your other guest finish a sentence and not over-talk everyone -- please. I just told you I want to hear as may sides of a story as I could, before I form an opinion about an issue. Your rantings curtail that. I just need you to "slow your roll" , "pump your brakes" or just shut up and listen sometimes.
Thank you.
I agree with DennyBlack. Joe, do you ever, ever quit talking? This morning, 9/17/12, all those poor people around the table have simply sat there, listening to you and nodding politely. That's all you ever do, Joe. You rant. You are surrounded by interesting, intelligent people and you simply can't have a round table discussion. You grab the floor, start talking and when someone tries to speak, you interrupt. Why do I watch, you wonder? Because, perhaps, someday, I might hear someone else's opinion. Unlikely, but there's always hope. Good luck with that humility, Joe.

I agree with DennyBlack and Rosie Moore to a degree; some mornings I feel like we accidentally switched to The View! However, it isn't usually Joe interrupting others as much as it's Mika. When she isn't interrupting, she is either making disrespectful comments and noises or checking her email and texts.
Please Joe please stop talking about Margaret Thatchrt, learn the history of uk.
She destroyed the union as a result Britain as a great industrial nation became dependent on the Financial sector. The poverty rate increased and people in regions are still feeling the pain.
The ignorance of the US fully on display on your show.
