Tell John Heilman to stop Cocking his head every time someone disagerees with his asessment.... this election is not over because of Bill Clintons speech... nor after the President speaks tonight! there are a lot of angry democrats still.....that is just unbecomign I turn your show off every time Heilman or Jon Capehart does that!
The headline Joe Scarborough missed while reading the morning paper and sipping his Starbucks coffee as he commented on the absence of the word God in the Democratic Party platform was, “Choir Boy Pummeled by Catholic Nun”. To be honest, as observant as Joe often is regarding matters of political importance, I don’t know how he could have missed it.
Sister Simone Campbell during her speech at the Democratic convention didn’t seem to see eye to eye with Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney’s choice for vice president of the United States on the issue of poverty in America. Maybe, the uncomfortable juxtaposition was due to the fact the Catholic nun had her arms wrapped round the head of Paul Ryan as she assailed the former choir boy with principles of faith and stories of how harmful his budget proposals would be for American families. Last night Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney were made painfully aware of the sorts of suffering their policies would inflict upon the American people.
What Paul Ryan and republican strategist fail to realize is while the word God may have been absent from the democratic platform the presence of God was not.
How is it possible that some people are incapable of comprehending the importance of human beings and the positive influence the actions of government can hold over our lives.
Republicans are never reluctant to use religion for political advantage often speaking of human values, expressed in religious language. So I ask the question, how is it Republicans do not understand that supporting the families of military veterans, assisting Americans with disabilities, combating infectious disease, improving nutrition for children, and reducing stockpiles of nuclear weapons are representative of the time honored religious teachings and a demonstration of faith.
I can only pray for the good of the nation that Sister Simone’s throttling of Paul Ryan on the stage of the Democratic convention will help republicans, Joe Scarborough included, come to understand this truth.
