Mika, Joe, Willie, Mike et al!!! Joe just spewed his "Repub" rhetoric--work hard and you'll blah, blah, blah. After serving this country vt being the at-home Mom while Dad worked at Redstone Arsenal, I decdide to go to UA Huntsville after the grandkids started to come along--I received 2 degrees--ubdergrad and masters. Then I was fortunate enough, because of my age, to go to work--up 'til 2011 I had 2 jobs. BOTH WERE TERMINATED BECAUSE OF POLITICS. Believe me I worked VERY hard because of my age I had much more to prove. Also, because of his association with me, my younger assistant was also dismissed. I can visualize you Joe, if you are reading this, well, stuff happens. I held my last position for 15 years--my asst for 8. I'll not atate where we worked right now, because the politics in AL is still out there in ether land. We organized our dept for the first time since it was createdin 1970; never took our vacation time; many nights we worked until 2 or 3 in the am. Granted I am now 79--77 at the time. It was time to start making plans to retire--OFFICIALLY and not shown the door with 10 min to leave the building (there were about 20 of us led out when the new CEO arrived. Joe, it your world it may work out, Mika as a female and I am a sr citizen, there is still a HUGE glass ceiling.
Enough!! HopeI made my point--

The media should call politicians on lying every time. If you don't, people who aren't as discerning will believe the lies when they hear them over and over...taking words out of context and putting a negative spin on them are blatantly dishonest...and infuriating.
I agree that taking things out of context is not good. Scarborough's negative comments about the president's comments, answering Romney, made me wonder if JOE has ever been in touch with the angst of losing a job you've held for 27 yrs., holding numerous hats, dedicated, hardworking, & loyal. That would be my husband a few yrs ago. Many people out there HAVE LOST THEIR JOBS, dude. What Romney's claim to fame w/Bain actually did WAS JUST THAT to A LOT OF PEOPLE. Take it however you choose. I used to like you. Gail Toffey, Vero Beach, FL
Not only the above, but my husband who lost that job had previously done 2 tours in Nam before he worked his butt off for that BBA, MBA, Darden Business Cert. Business is business, I guess Joe would say - right, buddy? Thanks again re/your empathy for the everyday hardworking "JOE"!!! In spite of my liberal social leanings (& conservative fiscal leanings), I used to like you.
It's nonsense that Romney has any idea what people go through and deal with on a daily basis. About the only thing he has in common is that he breathes the same air everybody else does.
