Director/screenwriter Nora Ephron (c.) with actor Tom Hanks (l.) and Meg Ryan (r.)
We've gone through our archives and added Nora Ephron's appearances on Morning Joe here on the blog for you to enjoy -- either again or for the first time.
In addition to being an Academy Award nominated screenwriter as well as a director of films that everyone on the planet seems to know, she was a friend of Morning Joe.
She will be dearly missed.

Why is business experience not working this time around? Perhaps because we've had two businessmen Presidents, one of whom caused the Great Depression, and the second caused the Great Recession of '08.
The one who the Republican's are running this time around, (Romney), want's to try the exact same policies that caused the Great Recession of '08 and the failed recovery policies that most of Europe has tried! American's aren't dumb. We've come to the realization that business and government are two completely different animals and business and government often have conflicting interests.
Interesting that I find some people like myself are successful in negotiating for others but less for myself but that is more by choice as it is with women. The discussion about women is more understandable however with a much higher hill to climb. Their opportunity to climb that hill is right in front of them and that is their choice. More are climbing that hill today making it easier for others, and evolution will soon evolve more quickly leading to women's success and equality in the work place.
I have been a nurse for 20 years the state of health care is frightening to me. I am coming off a twelve hour night shift so be forgiving of my spelling and typing. Our census in the hospital has not changed but the number of people with insurance has decreased. The hospitals are not being reimbursed for services to the uninsured if people who oppose socialized healthcare think that any insured person or taxpayers will not pick up the tab for the underinsured regardless whether an increase in insurance premium or decreased coverage or tax monies diverted from somewhere. The insured and working will pay more for services if the uninsured continues to rise in number. We have socialized medicine it is called MEDICARE it is poorly run and grossly ineffiecient. We also have MEDICAID. A very large portion of the users of healthcare services are from this sector of society simply because of the age and health of the people utilizing these services. Now is not the time for political stand off when the availabilty to helathcare of all Americans, well perhaps not the 1%, is in danger of a full cardiopulmonary arrest. Please do your jobs with as much love, devoution, and care as I do mine. For once let an issue really be about the people, not money or ideals that in the end will not be helpful if my child is struck by a car and needs an operation that I cannot afford. But of course I would have it done anyway. Mr President and Mr Romney, please show that you have a genuine concern for all Americans and their health and happiness. Find a solution that is workable and by all means show that compromise is how a healthy relationship grows.
