Joe and Nicole are hilarious! They should be a comedy team! Wall Street has done great under PBO. What do these two think the POTUS does? Wall Street is sitting on 2 trillion dollars and Joe and Nicole believe the President should deregulate and cut taxes for the super rich? So let me ask you, how did deregulation and cutting taxes work out for us under Bush/Cheney?
Seriously, trying the Bush policies again and trying the Ryan plan which is the plan the Europeans in Spain, France, Italy, Greece and England have just tried and sent themselves into much higher unemployment and a double dip recession doing suggests what? That Joe and the Republicans stuck needles into their eyes and ears and will just keep trying these failed policies until America fails completely. We're already the fifth worst in the world in income inequality and in the lower twenties in every measurable category among the 30+ western industrialized nations which is not right wing talking points or rationalizations but actual empirical evidence. Thirty years of Republican policy have driven this nation into the basement. It's time for especially TV newsmen to start talking straight to the American people if they love this country and want to preserve it. Put your greed aside and start working for America, or for you Republicans Amercia.
I loved your charts on job growth. One thing you failed to mention was that the Republicans in the state and federal government have laid off around 1,000,000 government employees. They have also refused to pass any of the jobs bills and small business bills along with 95% of all bills proposed by Obama and the Dems that have come across their desks.
When you consider this, that this Congress and the Republicans have been the most obstructionist in our history, the prior being the Republicans who were constantly attacking Clinton, (Joe remembers this well I'm sure). We can see this isn't about performance so much as it is about obstructionism at a time when we should be trying to rebuild this country.
Additionally when comparing our recovery to that of Europe's we are doing fantastic. The Europeans are once again requesting and cashing their currency for ours because of the strength of our recovery.
There is a time for partisan politics I suppose unfortunately for the Republicans that time is always even when the country is in dire straits. The fact that the Republican Governor of NJ killed the NJ-NY tunnel midway through construction and the Fla. Gov killed the light rail projects are two examples of how these guys are willing to kill, public, private and all jobs and projects so they can simply win the next election. Screw the public, as long as they can grab power and try their same old failed policies yet again.
Bravo for both of the above comments, I don't need to same more than I agree! Joe and the Republicans, TV news, Wall Street, Corporations ALL need to start talking straight about the obstruction from Congress, Senate, Governors in this country just to WIN in November because they all hate the POTUS. Don't deny, because then YOU LIE!
Joe wears blinders. For the first four years of the Bush administration no one in this country was allowed to bad mouth the President and those who did paid a serious price like Dan Rather the Dixie Chicks and Michael Moore.
Democrats had every right to question the Bush legitimacy (Bush v. Gore) and no one is now questioning the ridiculous circumstances around that, but at the time the right wrote books about how it was all legitimate. However, once Bush was in the Dems WORKED with Bush. They gave him and the Republicans virtually everything they wanted (they were in the minority but they didn't filibuster 95% of what he proposed or decide to spend every waking moment to make him a one term President just like Joe and the R's did to Clinton). This IS the difference between the two parties. The Dems NEVER question the legitimacy of the elections, the President or Congressmen. The Republicans always do. They convince each other Dems are not Americans, they're communists, fascists etc. These are not crackpots on the streets but actual elected Republican Congressmen/Senators who make these accusations. There have been at least four high profile Republican leaders who have called all or most of their fellow elected Dems real communists and want a McCarthy like investigation in the Congress/Senate. During Clinton's time actual Republican Senators/Congressmen made their own movies claiming Clinton murdered Vincent Foster in the White House and passed them out by the thousands for free in mega churches. Don't tell me both parties are the same.
Joe claims Bush was treated horribly by East Coasters who were selling fascist outfits with Bushes name, I go to every gun show in my state and I have always seen Clinton and Obma targets, anti-Clinton and Obama and Hillary crap but NEVER seen any anti Bush or any Republican stuff. This constant whining that both sides do the same thing is just more right wing infantile propaganda.
The Senator from WY want's the second leg of a pipeline (Keystone) that will create 2000 temporary jobs while laying off thousands of public employee's jobs and refusing to pass all jobs bills before him. He also wants to reduce regulations like Bush did when the first leg of the Keystone pipeline spilled into the Kalamazoo River over two years ago and was supposed to take two weeks to clean up but now over two years later is STILL being cleaned up and will takes years more. The people there are extremely upset that their children cannot fish, swim or boat in the river they have enjoyed for generations. But the Republicans want to get rid of more regulations so what these O&G companies don't have to clean up these oil disasters they just can't stop because of their total ineptitude? Give me a break! They've had the lowest taxes they've have had in this country in their lifetimes for a decade and they still don't want to pay for the wars they pushed and the banks and real estate crashes they caused or the 2 trillion they're refusing to invest? Maybe we should throw them a party for their reckless policies and refusal to help the citizens of this country? Additionally refusing to raise taxes because they signed an agreement written by a guy when he was in the 7th grade? Yeah thats's exactly the kind of maturity and thought I want to see from my Seantors. NOT!
It's amazing how frequently Joe is wrong. He thinks the Greeks just need to work harder like the Germans. Really? Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the German's didn't deregulate and instead kept strict regulation in place that protected them from the Bush crash of '08. Additionally the Germans require that the workers are represented on the boards of the corporations in that company. That's right the unions and workers rights are so strong they are actually involved in the decisions made by corporate board members and are considered part of that board. So like all Republicans try to blame people for being lazy all you want but the truth like always is simply good policy something Republicans used to know before the Reagan/Thatcher supply-side scam threw this country down.
Joe and What's Her Name, Nicole?, obviously hate Obama and have beaten this private sector comment of Obama's to death. Get over it!! The good thing is you're pissing off those of us who like him and don't trash every Romney gaffe. And both of you whine. Whine, whine whine. Double, tripe, quadruple boring.
Exactly what I was thinking. Had to keep changing the channel. Someone needs to count how many times the "private sector" comment was mentioned. Most boring show ever.
Joe Scarborough talking about someone else "droning on and on..." That is definitely the pot calling the kettle black. There are so many mornings when I just shout at him "please, just shut up already!"
