A Wisconsin woman who supported Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett in the recall election against Gov. Scott Walker gave Barrett a little slap on the face Tuesday night after his concession speech.
According to WISN, the woman was upset Barrett conceded as people were still casting their votes.
Barrett — who didn’t want to talk on camera — told Sater the woman asked him if she could slap him for conceding and he offered to hug her instead.
“He said the woman actually asked him, ‘Can I slap you?’ She was upset about him giving the concession speech while she still felt there were votes to be counted,” Sater said. “He looked at her and said ‘I’d rather you hug me’ so he leaned down thinking that she was going to hug him and she slapped him.”
“That was sort of the end of the little spat they had going there. But the mayor really was just stunned that she’d actually reached up and slapped him. She was just upset — some of the passions of the evening coming out about the results here, the Democrats losing,” Sater added.

What a huge boondoggle that Wisconsin recall election was for both the unions and democrats in general. No wonder President Obama stayed away from the battle, he saw the handwritting on the wall. The union morons who organized that recall effort should be run out of town on a rail and forever banished from the state. It was an enormous waste of tax payer dollars as well as employee union dues in an effort that was clearly doomed from the start.
Why is it that the only place unions are thriving is in public sector. Politicians need union votes so they protect union bosses. While the rest of the country was retrenching, government was booming. Politicians would say, "I can't give you a raise because nobody is getting raises, but we will give you a pension and benefits bump because nobody is watching that. Next thing you know, you have massive unfunded pensions and unsustainable benefits. Private sector unions contribute to their pensions and benefits, public unions contribute little or nothing. If you compare total lifetime salary and benefit packages, public workers are paid better than most private employees.
The public workers also do a lousy job.
Bottom line is if Unions were reasonable none of this would have happened. If it wasn't a constant money grab while expecting their people to do less and less to get it than there would be no debate. Let us do it this way. Everyone for a certain type of job gets paid x. If you are worth more, your boss can pay more. If you earn vacation, you get vacation. If shouldn't be handed out so you can laze around because if you screw up or not you get it anyway. What happened to rewarding those who deserve it?

Proof of this is in American students recent test scores versus other countries. Americans are at the bottom because of lousy Union teachers that cannot be fired. Unions reward failure and penalize hard work. The people have spoken. Unions can start eating hsit sandwiches... your days of wasting taxpayer money and protecting incompetent workers and rewarding them with taxpayer paid pensions ARE OVER.
And take an even further look into these test scores from American kids and you'll soon realize that with the salaries go the quality of education from state to state. Show me a "Right to Work" state and I'll show you a state at the bottom of the barrel as far as median test scores go in this country. Cutting over a billion dollars from education and then claiming that it's not impacting the children is laughable and sad to say the least. Not to mention the fact that last year's record education cut in Wisconsin was only the tip of the ice berg. It will be worse this year. Wisconsin used to pride itself on the education level of it's children. A Wisconsin certified teacher can go to 48 of the other 49 states and not have to worry about recertifying at all. You take a teacher from say Alabama, they'll have to get recertified wherever they go. Those days are quickly coming to an end for Wisconsin.

There are 2 issues here. The State and Municipal Unions are one and the Private Sector Unions are another. The S & M Unions pushed for increased on salaries and benefits to bring those jobs more in line with the private sector. Once they were greater than or equal to the private sector the wages and benefits started getting out of hand. Politicians gave the Unions whatever they asked for in return for the Labor Unions unrestrained support. This has proceeded to essentially place many cities and towns in Bankrupt mode. The Unions have totally failed the rank and file in the private sector. The private sector unions should be pushing for job security (for those who deserve it) and making a real attempt to keep jobs in the United States. If the Unions got back to what their original purpose was JOB SECURITY then they will deserve the support of the American people.
You people forget that the highest paid people in the state, work for the state. It is about time that the unions give a little back in order for the state to balance the budgets. State worker should not earn twice as much as the private workers who live around them.It is now time to get rid of the waste in federal, state and even local governments. Actually, when will people learn that the economy has very little to do with the President and more to do with the Fed and Wall Street. It was the greedy people on Wall Street that repackaged and sold risky housing debt to make billions, it is Wall Street speculators that is driving the price of oil up or down regardless of actual supply or demand(Note that the price of oil has been falling even though Obama said no to the Keystone pipeline), and the fact the the Fed controls interest rates which affects on investments and employment. How does the Pres. fit into this scenario? I am all for making money but not for greed. That is what got us into this mess not President Bush or Obama.

There are good union workers and there are bad union workers, likewise for non union workers. I believe that the resentment that we are seeing here is that in some areas of the country unionized state and municipal workers can retire after 20 years on the job at 75% pay and full medical until they reach 65 at which time Medicare kicks in. For this benefit they pay not one cent. The people that pay are the tax payers like myself, I pay into social security plus I contribute to a 401K. At this point I have worked 40 years with about 5 more to go. At that time, there are no guarantees, my 401K could take a nosedive and make my anticipated retirement income meager to say the least. Meanwhile, the union guy or gal who retires at 45 gets guaranteed cost of living raises, full health, and I am paying for that too. I keep hearing the term fairness, well, fairness to me is that everyone contributes and that includes union workers. If they can get a better shake in the private sector go for it.
I pray one day you guys wake up and realize the Government creates these left and right issues to keep everyone fighting each other, while they get bigger and make record money and benefits.,
