Mitt Romney's campaign team have been quick to cull together a new ad hitting back at the president's Bain Capital criticisms. As has been the tack recently, Romney's team is using Democrats' comments to hit the president.
The ad, which is under a minute, features Mayor Booker's now ubiquitous "Meet the Press" comments, and it also features two comments from our show.
One's from yesterday! Talk about swift moving!
In a Monday discussion on Mayor Booker's comments, former DLC chair Harold Ford Jr. shares his thoughts on private equity, and this ad picks up Ford saying "Private equity is not a bad thing. Matter of fact, private equity is a good thing in many, many instances."
It also picks up Morning Joe economic analyst and former advisor to President Obama, Steve Rattner, saying on May 14 that Bain did nothing "...they need to be embarrassed about."
So there you go!
How successful will this strategy -- using the Democrats' own sound bites on private equity and Bain against the Democrats -- be?

This ad Doesn't matter to me because the ad is an editing of sound-bites; to make the GOP's point; in other words another damn Romney Lie!! Americans see this. Americans already don't trust Politicians and an openly crooked, pinnochio LIAR like Romney and his team, just makes a lot of people nauseated!!!
I live in TN. My family was raised with Harold Ford, Jr.'s family. I am perplexed. I heard on yesterday's reports that he was a "Blue Dog" Democrat. Since when, Jr.? You were voted in Memphis as Congressman, District 9, as a Democrat (like your father and other relatives), since when did you change to being "blue"? Was it for professional reasons, or since you loss against being senator, representing TN? Is there a vendetta of some kind or have you forgot from whence you came? Memphis wants to know.

I love to watch Morning Joe in the mornings to get a balanced view of both the conservative and liberal viewpoints. However, later today after Morning Joe ended MSNBC was as unfair and off base as any Fox Report I have ever watched. I guess balanced reporting with intelligent comments from both sides as well as those in the middle does not make for good TV.

i dont usually post here, but this issue is driving me crazy....JOE you are DEAD wrong about Bain capital. there are all types of investment groups/companies and not all are good and not all are bad. the type that warren buffet does for example is the good kind where it does not destroy companies...EVER...(btw originally mitt did this too but it takes longer to make money and you dont make as much as fast) then there are the VULTURE companies like bain capital, like mitt did that USUALLY cares naught for the company. they come in with the intention of loading it with debt borrowing against pensions and bleeding it dry until it dies....some die quick some take 8 years..but it is the intent to bleed them dry, fire everyone and maximize every penny....THOSE ARE NOT GOOD COMPANIES!.....so joe walking around talking like all investment companies are the same and what mitt did was just his job is BS.....he worked for a company that is a vampire blood sucker that kills companies, ruins pensions and destroys peoples lives AS A BUSINESS MODEL just to make a nickel...and dont tell me i dont know what im talking about because i worked for Bain Capital for 8 months so i know more about this then any of you on this board

Since you decide to challenge me. What does that have to do with my statement. Did you know that he is not considered the Great White Hope? If you really had any history, the movie version of the "Great White Hope" which dealt with an African-American boxer to reference the phrase. That was his "nickname" at the time. Though it is insulting, check your history, before commenting on something or someone you actually don't know. I was RAISED with this man, you were not. If you can prove to know Jr., as we called him, then don't waste my time in responding to my comment. It was honestly directed to Jr., not a forum for discussion.

Harold Ford Jr. is a disgusting human being. When I put aside my opinions about his politcal leanings and defense of LBOs I have one thing left that I cannot get over: he cheats on his wife, had many other women in difference zip codes and @!$%#s his assitants (or just gets weekly blow jobs from them). That is not the kind of man I want to have a say about this country or it's money. When it comes down to it - the values in this country are partially responsible for some of it's problems. You can't fix those values with people looking up to this scum bag.
