Romney viciously humiliates a young gay man and Obama
courageously supports gay marriage.
Joe’s take: What Romney did was just kid’s stuff in the
past, but it’s “shameful” how the media covers up Obama’s hypocrisy on gay
marriage.
Maybe Joe should pay attention to his own Hypocrisy. Shameful!
Joe, its not that some incident, perhaps seemingly insignificant from 50 year old high school experiences given the outlook of that time, matters now. Its about how a presidential candidate reacts to the news today. Today, such bullying would not be allowed, because we have a better understanding of the scars left on the victim. The candidate who laughs it off as something he doesn't remember is not giving a good role model for a kid today. Instead, Romney should have recognized that such behavior today is repulsive and expressed some true feelings to that effect. He instead gave a blanket, unfeeling "of course I apologize" statement showing ignorance of how we should handle such bullying to day. It was one more chance he had to show some empathy and he blew it.
