Regarding Obama's position on Gay Marriage:
I give him kudos for letting us know why he hasn't taken a side yet. It isn't cute, it isn't a game. He knows this is serious- it is central for the Gay community and incredibly important to Obama personally as a Christian, and publicly in terms of policy and yes, sadly, politics count, too. I think we should honor what he's already done to extend civil rights for many groups AND that he has character and morals that he will not betray.
See how we mock Romney for letting an advisor go because a talk show host says having a gay man is unacceptable? Even that radio host is now admonishing Romney for his weakness. So apply that to President Obama. To demand "just change your mind" since the President already admitted his opinion is evolving is almost rude. His heart and mind are in the right place, and he will act when the time is right- for him & the country
Elena Nichol, i agree with you. I would think it was more important for Joe to talk about Romney allowing that woman to say Our President committed treason. Have you heard of the Republican's involvement with Uganda and "Kill The Gays '? If you haven't check it out. Inholf (sp) is mix up in this big time. It goes under the radar. Rachel has been the only one to expose it, but there is a treasure trove on the internet.
Elena and Lena I agree with you both. What is important to me is that the President believes all men and women deserve equal rights; no matter what your beliefs as an American (even if different than mine) you have the right to the same civil liberties as others and that is what the President stands for and fights for as the leader to all Americans--equal rights for all! This Morning Joe Show is using the subject as a campaign issue this morning as Joe Scarborough always does. Sadly, I don't think he really cares about Gays or what the President thinks; For Little Joey Scarborough it is all about scoring campaign points, for Republicans.
